Pascal Tyrrell is a data scientist – a combination of research methodologist, computer/database solutions architect and innovator. He received his PhD in medical sciences from the University of Toronto working in the area of pediatric rheumatology at SickKids (Toronto, ON). Currently, he is the Director of Data Science and Associate Professor with the Department of Medical Imaging, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
Oswaldo Páez is a specialist in the development of strategies in agro-ecological production, treatment of organic waste through composting and the production of agricultural bio-inputs. His career as an agricultural engineer began in the area of vegetable physiology and biotechnology, plant tissue cultura and molecular techniques, then passing through other areas, such as genetic improvement, plant pathology, production in protected environments, seedling production, nutrition, irrigation, crop production, pest and disease control management, soil improvement, production of bio-inputs, use of organic waste for the generation of bio-inputs and composting. Each of these agronomic experiences were carried out in technical departments of research, development, extension, sales and entrepreneurship; related to crops such as roots and tubers, ornamental plants, sugar cane, citrus, banana, pineapple, coffee, rice, fodder and vegetables, etc. All this multidisciplinary agronomic knowledge, always carried out in a sustainable way for a better social benefit, is now summed up in a unique reality; the agrocology. This experience allows him, on the one hand, to have a broad strategic vision for the best sustainable solutions, human and environmental in crop production in an effective way, as well as in the use of available resources for the production of bio-inputs.
